Professional cleaner’s must-have products for getting rid of nasty limescale
Daily Express shares how to remove limescale from showerhead
There is nothing better than a steaming hot shower, but unfortunately, this means that limescale build-up in bathrooms is inevitable.
Limescale is an unsightly stain that can sometimes appear like a chalky white streak on taps, tiles, glass areas and showerheads. It is caused by calcium and magnesium being left behind when warm water evaporates.
While limescale may not be noticeable at first, over time it can damage appliances around your home and become very tricky to remove once it has had time to settle on a surface.
Not taking care of limescale can make bathrooms look unclean and stained, but it is easy to have a sparkling bathroom as long as you have the proper equipment to get rid of limescale.
Chelsi Pattinson is a professional cleaner who has exploded in popularity online due to her cleaning tutorials and has explained there are only three essential items needed to properly clean up limescale.

In a video online, Chelsi said: “So many people are asking me about limescale so I am going to recommend what I think you should use.”
Chelsi said that the must-have limescale solution is Viakal bathroom spray, which not only removes limescale but will remove soap scum as well as watermarks that are affecting your bathroom.
It only costs £3 and the formula creates a barrier to prevent water marks from reappearing. Chelsi explained that Viakal is very effective and all you need to do is simply spray it on a surface and let it set for a few minutes.
Chelsi explained: “Don’t leave this stuff on longer than five minutes as it will bubble your grout. It is really good.”

Another product that Chelsi recommended is the Marigold scourer which only costs £2 and is apparently the best thing to scrub away any limescale stains.
Chelsi said: “I love these, I will not do a deep bathroom clean without one of these.”
However, in order to properly rid of limescale streaks on shower glass and bathroom windows, Chelsi recommended using any brand of glass scraper while using Viakal on glass. Glass scapers typically cost around £1 and can be bought at any supermarket.
She said: “Glass scraper. Don’t use it on your taps but use it on your glass and it will literally just scrape all the limescale away.”
Combining these products will help reduce limescale in any bathroom, and prevent future build-up for much longer.
