Inside I'm a Celeb hopeful Alan Halsall's car collection – despite Corrie mechanic admitting embarrassing failure | The Sun
CORONATION Street star Alan Halsall is perhaps the nation's best-loved mechanic.
And the 41-year-old actor, who plays Webster's Autocentre garage co-owner Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, is a bit of a petrol-head in real life, too.
Alan is hugely popular with Corrie viewers after 25 years on the Cobbles.
And fans of the show may soon get to see Alan like they've never seen him before – with the star rumoured to be among the next batch of celebrities to enter the jungle on I'm a Celebrity.
If he does head into the jungle, he'd be following in the footsteps of Corrie co-stars Simon Gregson and Andy Whyment.
“Alan is a top lad with bags of personality so ITV are over the moon he’s in talks to join their 2023 cast,” a source told The Sun recently.

In recent years, Alan has taken to social media to show off his luxurious lifestyle – including his £750k mega-mansion in Manchester.
But one of the actor's most prized possessions was his stunning £175,000 Mercedes Benz SLS.
He would regularly be spotted around Manchester in the glistening red supercar, and in 2019 he took to Instagram to proudly show off the motor, writing: "You can’t buy happiness… but you can buy a new car and that’s kind of the same thing."
The actor – who's also owned a Harley Davidson motorbike – had reportedly toyed with splashing out on a Ferrari, but fell in love with the 189 mph Merc.

But just a year on, he opted for a more practical motor, telling fans: “It’s time for a change.”
The coupe, which is notoriously cramped inside with small back seats, needed to be swapped for a family car as the TV star's young daughter got older.
He accompanied a farewell picture of the monster with the word "adios" and included James Blunt's hit Goodbye My Lover as the soundtrack to his sad send-off.
Despite playing a mechanic onscreen, Alan revealed in 2020 that his skills haven't translated into his personal life.
Alan explained: "You’d think after so many years that even if you weren’t into cars, you’d pick up some little piece of knowledge.
"I’ve not picked up one bit, nothing!"
He added to The Mirror: "I get it in the pub; a guy came up to me, grabbed my hand and said: 'Never seen a day’s work in their life, them. I’m a mechanic.'
"I tell them I’m just pretending! Apart from lifting the bonnet up, I haven’t got a clue.
"I’ve never changed a tyre. I wouldn’t like to do it – I’d just ring my brother, who works with cars."
