Send parcel scams packing – The Crusader

And what a field day they are having already duping victims despite there being no shortage of warnings and nothing new about this scam.

People get a text out of the blue about a missed delivery, the alleged courier is always a well-known name, but the link they are asked to click on is bogus.

Once there however they will see a load of info and the giveaway is the small fee required to pay for redelivery.

It’s those key payment details that are what the crooks are really after. In the past week Crusader has been told of scores of instances and even a chance chat with a legitimate courier revealed how many they were hearing about among their customers.

If you get any message like this, just delete. If you have missed a parcel honest couriers will have another go at redelivering. Also do a search on the website given.

If you have supplied key personal details, you must keep an eye on your account. Your information is bound to have been sold on, so there’s no let up and it’s a good idea to alert your bank to what has happened.
