Clever DIY hack stops your windscreen frosting over for just £2.50 – & it only takes five minutes to make | The Sun

A VAN lifer has revealed a clever DIY hack to stop your window frosting over – and it only costs £2.50.

James, who documents his campervan travels on YouTube, shared the handy tip for when the weather turns colder.

All you need is some foil insulation, some tape, a few carpet scraps, some adhesive spray and a trusty pair of scissors.

First measure out the size of your window and cut a template of the correct size and shape out of paper or card.

Stick this to the insulation and cut out a piece according to the template.

Use a strong adhesive spray to stick this onto a piece of old carpet and cut around it so you're left with a carpet-backed cover that fits perfectly onto your window.

If you like, you can edge them with a sturdy fabric, again using adhesive spray.

Alternatively, you can use a sewing machine for both of the previous steps if one is available to you or even hand-stitch them if you have the time and patience.

Once that's all done you can use tape to secure the covers to the window frames, but make sure not to tape over the glass as it can leave marks.

Another method is to pick up some cheap suction cups online which you can push through the material and use to stick onto the windows directly.

You now have some DIY window covers which will prevent condensation forming on your windows and, therefore, stop them from icing up.

If you have enough material, you can even make one large enough to cover your windscreen.

And materials shouldn't be too much of a stretch since a roll of foil insulation can be picked up online for 99p, while a roll of carpet is as little as £1.49.

It comes one adventurous driver revealed what life is like in a converted military truck.

Meanwhile, shoppers raved about an Amazon product that can apparently stop your windows fogging up for good.
